Research Advisor - K12 Revenue Team
Hanover Research
Arlington, VA/Remote
The Research Advisor role serves on the K-12 Revenue team and is responsible for supporting revenue growth directly and indirectly through a variety of functions. The position requires strong communication, deep research methodology knowledge, project management, and K-12 education expertise. We are seeking highly-motivated applicants with the right combination of research experience and practical K12 experience, commercial interest, and communication skills. A successful candidate will be interested in making a long-term contribution to a growing organization. This position will report directly to the Senior Research Advisor. Applicants must be willing to travel domestically up to three (3) times a quarter.
Responsibilities
Contribute to net K-12 revenue and gross profit margin through activities related to new business (NBBs), additional business (ABBs), and renewals (RBB)
Scope customized research projects and advisory supports on various topics for K-12 prospects;
Understands full range of K-12 services portfolio – Advisory, Digital, Custom, ELC
Participate in both Content and Revenue team meetings to bridge the gap in communications
Draft and review proposals, including RFPs and Membership Action Plans
Help to drive urgency through project timelines and content impact
Effectively communicate and explain Hanover’s methodologies and consultative supports and findings to prospects;
Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to prospects and leadership;
Collaborate with directors and associates to develop effective revenue strategies;
Identify areas of improvement internally to increase commercial efficiency and optimization;
Support other internal initiatives related to growth including:
Drafting, reviewing and editing marketing material;
Helping to curate the K-12 Project Description Library and Advisory Description Library;
Designing and running internal trainings;
Collaborate with Content leadership on new offerings and project updates;
Create scripts and scoping guides for Revenue teams;
Identify trends and recently delivered member reports for redactions.
Desired Skills and Attributes
Deep knowledge of the K-12 education including trends and challenges
Strong command of all methodologies, research processes, and K12 practical landscape;
Exceptional communication skills scalable from 1v1 interactions, formal presentations, and external call presence;
Highly responsive to internal and external needs to capitalize on commercial urgency;
Ability to translate goals, issues, and initiatives into a well-defined sequenced research and/or advisory plan
Desire to work directly with prospective clients and ensure their satisfaction and retention;
Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment;
Able to take initiative, serving as a leader to:
Identify issues/areas of improvement
Develop a plan of action
Execute upon the plan to achieve the desired outcome or result
Proven ability to make quick and informed decisions;

Extremely strong and demonstrable work ethic, especially in a team setting;
High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

Education Requirement
A terminal or Master’s degree in Education, Business, Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, or a related discipline is preferred, though candidates with relevant experience without a terminal degree or who hold other degrees will be considered.
Experience Requirement
Minimum of 5 - 10 years of full-time work experience conducting research, consulting, or professional writing, preferably K12 practical leadership experience is preferred. At least one year of which is in a management position. Applied K-12 education research experience is preferred.

Compensation
Hanover Research strives to create compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable, and fair. The On Target Earning (OTE) range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000 per year, which is comprised of a base salary range from $100,000 - $110,000 and a variable uncapped commission structure ranging from $15,000 - $20,000 when goal is 100% obtained for this role. Please note that the base salary offered is contingent on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our base pay range is determined by the role and the market.
