Project Engineer

Join Fulton Hogan as a Project Engineer in Canterbury and help deliver the civil infrastructure that keeps communities connected. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead planning, delivery and reporting across projects, working closely with crews, subcontractors and clients to keep quality, cost and programme on track.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high-quality civil construction projects across the Canterbury region.
• Own project planning, programming, cost control and reporting.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and onsite resources.
• Support bidding and pricing with practical, constructable solutions.
• Champion health and safety, quality and continuous improvement on site.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and solid civil construction experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer on projects greater than $5M.
• Proven experience in asphalt, surfacing, pavements or broader civil construction.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and onsite resources to keep delivery on track.
• A strong safety focus and a practical, solutions-driven mindset.
• Confidence leading crews, resolving issues and making good calls under pressure.
• A collaborative, team-first approach and the ability to build strong working relationships across crews, clients and delivery partners.
