IT Asset Management (HAM)

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware assets, including desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, and peripherals.

• Track hardware asset lifecycle from acquisition through disposal using asset management tools.
• Coordinate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to manage purchasing, receiving, deployment, and retirement of hardware.
• Ensure hardware compliance with internal standards, policies, and licensing agreements.
• Perform regular audits and reconciliation of physical assets versus asset management records.
• Develop and maintain processes for asset tagging, tracking, and inventory management.
• Monitor hardware warranty and support contract status, initiate renewals or replacements as necessary.
• Assist in developing and improving ITAM/HAM processes and policies.
• Provide regular reporting on asset utilization, lifecycle status, and compliance metrics.
• Support risk management by maintaining data accuracy to reduce security vulnerabilities and financial risk.
• Participate in IT projects by providing hardware asset management expertise and support.

·       Follow established best practices and standards in infrastructure service delivery.

Basic Qualifications: ·       Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience

·       Typically, 3+ years of relevant work experience in IT Asset Management, with a minimum of 1 year focus on Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

• Solid understanding of IT hardware, asset lifecycle management, and inventory control.
• Familiarity with ITAM tools and platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Helix, Flexera, Lansweeper).
• Working knowledge of ITIL practices.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Other Qualifications:

Experience with compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements related to asset management is a plus.

• ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
