About the Role
With a strategic focus on large family businesses, high wealth families and family offices, this Director role encompasses tax consulting, tax compliance, family governance and estate planning advisory services.
As a key leader within the practice, you will build and strengthen trusted client relationships, lead complex advisory engagements and work closely with Partners to drive sustainable growth across the client portfolio. You will play an active role in shaping the future of the practice through business development, people leadership and strategic initiatives.

Our role is to support your continued growth as a leader, adviser and trusted business partner through ongoing development across technical expertise, commercial acumen, business development, governance and people leadership, providing a clear pathway towards future leadership opportunities within the firm.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading a portfolio of significant clients and acting as a trusted adviser to business owners, family groups and family offices
- Developing deep client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services and deliver additional value to clients
- Leading strategic family and business discussions with clients, delivering commercially focused advice and solutions
- Delivering complex advisory engagements across family governance, succession planning, business structuring, estate planning and tax matters
- Working closely with Partners and other leaders to drive growth initiatives and strengthen the firm's presence in the market
- Driving business development activities, including networking, referral relationships, thought leadership and identifying new opportunities
- Taking accountability for the operational effectiveness, financial performance and sustainable growth of the team
- Leading, coaching and developing future leaders while fostering a high-performing and inclusive team culture
- Providing mentoring, guidance and technical support across the broader team
- Overseeing the delivery of complex financial statements, tax returns and advisory engagements for large and sophisticated client groups
- Reviewing significant client deliverables and providing technical guidance on complex tax and commercial matters
- Providing specialist advice across a range of tax issues, including Division 7A, CGT, trusts, restructuring, succession planning and property matters
- Driving collaboration across service lines to deliver integrated solutions and exceptional client outcomes
- Managing engagement economics, including budgets, WIP, recoverability, pricing discussions and overall client profitability
- Contributing to practice strategy by identifying market opportunities, emerging trends and growth initiatives
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Prior accounting experience within a public practice accounting or professional services environment
- CA or CPA qualified
- Demonstrated experience leading complex tax advisory and compliance engagements for privately owned businesses, family groups and high wealth clients
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with clients and act as a strategic adviser to business owners and senior decision-makers
- Strong technical tax capability across a broad range of private client and business advisory matters
- Track record of business development success, including identifying, converting and growing client opportunities
- Established professional network and market presence, with the ability to build new relationships and referral channels
- Proven leadership experience with a strong focus on coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
- Highly effective communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and engage a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, profitability, WIP and team performance
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining visibility across multiple client engagements and competing priorities
- Strong digital capability and working knowledge of cloud-based accounting platforms, business technologies and Microsoft Office applications
- A growth mindset, commercial curiosity and willingness to bring new ideas to the table
