Job Description Summary
The Nuclear Fuel Engineer will make immediate contributions to BWR fuel reload licensing and cycle management in GNF-A Fuels Engineering while being technically mentored by a team of high-performing engineers. In this role, you will provide innovative licensing and design solutions that ensure high-quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. Additionally, this position offers direct utility customer-facing opportunities through deliverables, collaboration, and training.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Apply analytical methods, procedures, and techniques to solve complex problems.
- Execute analysis and design calculations to support operating reactor cores in reload licensing and cycle management.
- Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
- Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
- Implement continual improvement of work processes, including procedure and script updates.
- Maintain and/or exceed baseline project schedule and cost in the delivery of nuclear fuel reload engineering deliverables.
- Share information and promote open dialogue, including working effectively in a matrixed team environment.
- Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.
- Partner with Commercial Account Managers (CAMs), interface with customer technical personnel, and manage reload projects across the Fuels organization.
- Engage in continuous professional development and mentoring.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, physics, or another science field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant nuclear experience.
Eligibility Requirements:
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
Desired Characteristics:
- Master of Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering.
- Experience with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) technology.
- Experience with BWR core simulator and use of 3-Dimensional neutron kinetics codes (PANACEA is preferred).
- Knowledge of plant operational support.
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements.
- Programming experience with Python or C#.
- Detail oriented and accountable for results.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $85,600.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
