Overview
AtkinsRéalis are currently looking for the Health & Safety Lead will work closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to identify potential risks, implement preventive measures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve a safe and incident-free working environment.
Your role
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety management systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian health and safety regulations, client requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Develop and review risk assessments, safe work procedures, and method statements.
- Monitor safety performance and prepare periodic reports, dashboards, and KPI analyses.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers, supervisors, and site personnel on safety-related matters.
- Review contractor and subcontractor safety performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure proper implementation of permit-to-work systems and critical safety controls.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and behavioral safety initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with PPE requirements and safe work practices.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on all health and safety matters.
- Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and statutory reports.
- Support project planning and execution by integrating health and safety requirements into project activities.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of Health & Safety experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience on large-scale construction, infrastructure, engineering, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian health and safety regulations and international HSE standards.
- NEBOSH International Diploma or NEBOSH IGC certification is required.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CMIOSH, CRSP, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience with ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
- Experience managing contractor safety compliance and performance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HSE management systems.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and travel to project sites as required.
