About Our Internship Program:

Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network. Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.

The Job:

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to support Electrical Engineering with key activities including:

• Performing Electrical Engineering design and testing tasks for new product development and cost reduction projects. 

• Help prototype electronic and/or mechatronic product concepts related to power tools and related fields, battery and cell studies, wireless connectivity, and jobsite power  

• Prepare possible solutions along with decision matrix to assist in choosing technical direction  

• Design and construct prototypes creating bill of materials and preliminary cost analysis  

• Present results to supervisor and Innovation / Technology leadership 

You will have exposure to several areas of the Electrical Engineering at Stanley Black & Decker. You will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals.

The Person:

The summer Electrical Engineering intern candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Be a rising junior or senior.

• Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Degree.

• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, circuit analysis, and power electronics.

• Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development is a plus.

• Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.

Electrical Engineering internships are available in the following locations:

• Towson, MD

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $22.00- $27.00 per hour. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
