Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing and managing the accounts payable functions within the organization through leading a team of accounts payable specialists, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, adhering to payment terms, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.Essential Functions
-Supervise and provide leadership to the accounts payable team, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and monitoring performance.
-Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
-Review and approve high-value or complex invoices, resolving any discrepancies or issues before payment processing.
-Monitor and enforce compliance with payment terms and discount opportunities, maximizing cost savings for the organization.
-Maintain strong vendor relationships, addressing inquiries, resolving disputes, and ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.
-Develop and implement accounts payable policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
-Conduct regular audits of accounts payable transactions, vendor records, and payment processes to identify and mitigate potential risks or errors.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree in a related field of study required
- Bachelor's Degree in finance or a related field of study preferred
Experience
- 3+ years of accounts payable experience required
- 1+ years of supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment methods, vendor management, and related controls.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as relevant tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues related to accounts payable.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop a team, promote collaboration, and drive performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and management.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Working Schedule:
- Full time, Monday - Friday eastern standard business hours
- Hybrid, onsite required 4x/month
- Remote hours require a quiet, secure, HIPAA compliant working area
