Join our Clinical Trials team and support pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract research organizations (CROs) in conducting efficient and successful clinical trials! Our dedicated colleagues provide comprehensive clinical supply chain services, including packaging, labeling, and distribution. We also offer support to streamline trial processes, improve data quality, and ensure regulatory compliance.

A Day in the Life

As a Finance Business Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in driving strategic financial decision-making within the Clinical Trial Division (CTD) at ThermoFisher Scientific. Reporting directly to the Director Financial Operations, CTD EMEA, you will lead the financial planning and forecasting agenda, translate performance into actionable insight, and partner with the Horsham leadership team to enable profitable, sustainable growth. This role combines strong financial stewardship with commercial thinking, operational partnership and people leadership.

• A highly visible finance leadership role, partnering closely with site and functional leaders to translate strategy into financial outcomes.

• Ownership of the annual budgeting process, including revenue forecasts, expense projections and capital expenditure planning, with clear alignment to business priorities.

• Responsibility for monthly forecasting, variance analysis and management reporting, identifying the key drivers of performance and recommending actions to improve results.

• The opportunity to evaluate strategic initiatives, investments and business risks through scenario analysis, sensitivity testing and robust financial modelling.

Keys to Success

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.

• 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis.

• Demonstrated career progression and a commitment to continuous learning, with the curiosity and ambition to stretch capabilities and take on broader responsibilities.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment and managing multiple priorities effectively.

Leadership & Impact

• Proven ability to operate as a trusted business partner, influencing senior leaders and translating complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations.

• Strong people leadership capability, with experience hiring, coaching, strengthening and developing finance & accounting teams to support performance, growth and retention.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both financial and non-financial stakeholders and constructively challenge assumptions.

• Commercially minded and highly analytical, with strong attention to detail and the ability to connect financial performance to operational and strategic drivers.

• Technical & Functional Expertise

• Advanced financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling capability, including long-term planning, scenario analysis and investment evaluation.

• Strong skills in MS Excel, Power BI and MS PowerPoint are required, with the ability to build insightful management dashboards and communicate performance clearly.

• Experience with Data Warehouse tools and enterprise systems such as Oracle or SAP is beneficial.

• Demonstrated ability to leverage automation and digitisation to streamline finance workflows, improve reporting and reduce manual effort.

• Ability to support BU-level initiatives, special projects, business requests and ad-hoc financial analysis as priorities evolve.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to align financial plans with commercial and operational strategies.
