Finance Business Partner, APAC
Location : Sydney
Description
The Finance Business Partner - APAC will play a critical role in partnering with Regional Business Leaders and Finance Teams to enhance financial planning, reporting, and decision-making across the APAC region. The role will lead the standardisation and optimisation of budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting processes, ensuring consistency, transparency, and efficiency across countries and business units.
A key objective of this position is to establish scalable regional processes that proactively meet ExCo, Group Finance and business requirements. Reporting directly to the Regional CFO, the role will act as a bridge between Group FP&A, Regional Leadership Teams, and Local Finance Teams to drive alignment, governance, and continuous improvement.
What you will be doing
Partner with Regional Business Heads to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and operational performance.
Collaborate with Regional Finance Leaders to improve the quality, consistency, and timeliness of financial information.
Act as a trusted advisor to regional stakeholders on planning, performance management, and business initiatives.
Lead and coordinate the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes across APAC.
Develop and implement standard planning methodologies, templates, assumptions, and timelines across the region.
Drive consistency in forecast accuracy, financial analysis, and management reporting.
Ensure robust alignment between regional forecasts and Group FP&A requirements.
Oversee the regional monthly reporting process to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable performance information.
Establish standard reporting packs, KPIs, and management dashboards across APAC.
Identify and explain key business drivers, risks, opportunities, and variances to budget and forecast.
Support regional leadership teams in performance reviews and business planning discussions.
Lead initiatives to standardise financial planning and reporting outputs across APAC.
Design and document regional finance processes and governance frameworks.
Identify opportunities for automation, process simplification, and enhanced use of financial systems and tools.
Reduce manual effort and eliminate duplication through the implementation of consistent regional practices.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the APAC finance organisation.
Partner closely with Group FP&A to understand evolving reporting, budgeting, and forecasting requirements.
Translate Group requirements into efficient regional processes and operating models.
Coordinate with finance, operations, HR, and other functional teams to ensure data integrity and alignment.
Establish strong relationships across regional and country finance teams to drive adoption of standardised processes
Support the integrity of financial planning and reporting processes across the region.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, reporting standards, and internal control requirements.
Promote accountability and ownership for financial results throughout the organisation.
Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
Significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance or business partnering.
10 years of finance leadership experience within complex, multi-entity organisations.
Experience supporting multiple countries or business units.
Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting capabilities.
Proven track record in finance process improvement and transformation initiatives.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Advanced Excel and financial systems experience, preferably leveraging AI.
