About the role
You will partner with the Northern Territory operational team to provide financial leadership and support for the successful delivery of the Defence Property and Assets (PAS) contract. The role oversees financial performance, risk management, compliance, reporting, and governance, while providing strategic financial insights to support operational decision-making and contract outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to support business performance and decision-making.
Monitor cash flow, invoicing, and contractor payments to optimise working capital.
Manage budget processes and support cost control and operational efficiency initiatives.
Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and contractual requirements while supporting audits and risk management.
Partner with stakeholders to provide financial insights, recommendations, and performance reporting.
Improve financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance governance and decision-making.
Provide financial support for strategic initiatives, investments, and business growth opportunities.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
Extensive finance and accounting experience, including senior finance leadership roles, preferably within defence or government environments.
Experience managing financial operations across multiple sites or regions.
Strong understanding of government financial regulations, compliance, and audit requirements.
Proven expertise in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) highly desirable.
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
