The Lead, Human Resources Business Partner, North America serves as a strategic advisor to World Courier business leaders, partnering to develop and execute people strategies that drive organizational performance, talent outcomes, and business growth. This role collaborates closely with HR Centers of Excellence and Shared Services teams to deliver integrated HR solutions while fostering a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive workforce across North America. Through trusted partnership, data-driven insights, and change management, the Lead HRBP helps leaders build organizational capability, develop talent, and navigate workforce opportunities that support long-term business success.
This position is planned to be office optimal with flexibility to work from home as needed. The ideal candidate will be based near a World Courier office base.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary Human Resources Business Partner for designated World Courier North America business leaders, aligning people strategies, organizational effectiveness initiatives, and talent solutions with business objectives and operational priorities.
Partner with senior leaders to assess workforce needs, develop workforce plans, and implement talent strategies that support business growth, succession readiness, and long-term organizational capability.
Provide strategic consultation and guidance on performance management, talent reviews, employee engagement, leadership development, succession planning, organizational design, and workforce optimization.
Advise leaders on organizational changes, restructuring initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and change management activities to drive business performance while supporting employee engagement and retention.
Lead the implementation and execution of enterprise HR programs, policies, and processes, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with global HR strategies and standards.
Collaborate with Human Resources Centers of Excellence and Shared Services teams, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, HR Operations, and Talent Management, to deliver integrated solutions that address business and employee needs.
Analyze workforce, talent, and organizational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations that support informed decision-making and business outcomes.
Partner with business leaders to develop robust talent pipelines, strengthen leadership capability, and support the attraction, development, and retention of critical talent.
Support and guide employee relations matters, including performance concerns, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation, while ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
Participate in the selection and assessment of key leadership talent and contribute to strategic talent planning initiatives that support organizational succession and growth objectives.
Drive adoption of HR best practices, process improvements, and standardized operating procedures that enhance effectiveness, employee experience, and organizational performance.
Lead and support change management initiatives by developing and executing strategies that enable business transformation, organizational effectiveness, and sustainable employee adoption.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and regulatory requirements across North America, proactively identifying and mitigating workforce-related risks.
Mentor and provide guidance to HR team members and business stakeholders on the application of HR programs, policies, and practices to promote consistency and high-quality execution.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, industrial relations, psychology, or a related field, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Master's degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, industrial relations, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
6+ years of experience in human resources business partnering, employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, or a related field required.
Preferred Certifications
Certification in human resources (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
Experience partnering with leaders on organizational design initiatives that support business growth, workforce effectiveness, and evolving organizational needs.
Proven ability to coach and influence leaders through employee relations and workplace matters with professionalism, sound judgment, and a focus on positive outcomes.
Demonstrated success supporting talent management, succession planning, leadership development, and employee growth strategies that strengthen organizational capability.
Strong ability to build relationships and collaborate across diverse stakeholders, effectively navigating both business and HR organizations to deliver impactful solutions.
Experience supporting organizational transformation initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, integrations, restructures, or other significant business changes.
Proven track record leading or contributing to cross-functional projects and initiatives that drive process improvement, business outcomes, and organizational effectiveness.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution, translating business priorities into practical people strategies and actionable plans.
Strong business acumen with the ability to understand organizational priorities, identify opportunities, and align HR solutions to business objectives.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and trusted partnerships at all levels of the organization.
Comfort working in a dynamic environment, managing ambiguity, prioritizing effectively, and adapting to changing business needs.
Sound decision-making skills, including the ability to assess risks, evaluate options, and recommend practical solutions.
Commitment to developing self and others, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and accountability.
Results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving organizational performance, innovation, and an exceptional employee experience.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Experience in HRIS systems (Workday) preferred.

Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
