Job Description Summary

The Assistant Security Manager at Aman Nai Lert Bangkok is responsible for supporting the day-to-day protection of guests, colleagues, assets and property, while ensuring that all security activity is delivered discreetly and in keeping with the Aman service philosophy. Deputizing for the Security Manager in their absence, the Assistant Security Manager supervises the security team on shift, oversees access control and surveillance operations, leads the first response to incidents and emergencies, and ensures full compliance with

hotel policies, fire and life-safety requirements, and applicable Thai laws and regulations.

This role requires sound judgement, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance a high standard of security with an unobtrusive, gracious guest experience.

Responsibilities

General

• Maintain a discreet but effective security presence throughout the hotel, setting the standard of grooming, conduct and guest interaction for the security team.
• Greet and assist guests, residents and visitors courteously, resolving security-related concerns with tact and confidentiality.
• Deputies for the Director of Security during absences, holidays and off-shift hours, acting as the senior security decision-maker on duty.
• Lead and motivate Security Supervisors and Officers, conducting daily briefings and on-the-job training.
• Uphold Aman brand standards, hotel policies and the confidentiality of all guest and colleague information.
• Supervise daily security operations across the entrance, lobby, back-of-house, perimeter and control room, ensuring all posts are covered and standards are met.
• Prepare and manage the security duty roster, ensuring adequate coverage on every shift, including a minimum of two supervisors on the night shift, and control overtime.
• Oversee access control: verify that only guests with confirmed reservations, residents, authorised visitors and approved contractors enter the property, and support colleagues in politely applying the hotel's reservation-only policy.
• Manage CCTV surveillance, alarm systems and key control, including regular checks, footage retrieval requests and accurate key/lost-property records.
• Act as first responder and incident commander for emergencies — fire, medical, security threats, evacuation — until relieved by the Security Manager or a senior executive.
• Carry out routine patrols and inspections of guest floors, service areas, plant rooms and the perimeter, recording and following up on all deficiencies.
• Coordinate closely with Front Office, Guest Relations, Concierge, Housekeeping, Engineering and Food & Beverage to ensure a seamless and secure gue- st experience.
• Provide security arrangements for VIP arrivals, private events and high-profile guests in coordination with the relevant departments.
• Liaise professionally with local police, fire services, immigration and other authorities, and manage the hotel's statutory security reporting obligations.
• Support fire and life-safety programmed: equipment checks, evacuation drills, emergency response training and maintenance of the crisis management plan.
• Monitor contracted security personnel and outsourced services for performance and compliance with agreed standards.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, incident registers, shift handovers and departmental records.
• Escalate unusual situations, trends or risks to the Security Manager promptly, with recommendations for corrective action.

Qualifications & Experience

• Security experience in a luxury hotel, resort or comparable environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of CCTV and access control systems, fire and life-safety procedures, emergency response and investigation techniques.
• Certification in first aid, CPR/AED and basic firefighting preferred; military, police or formal security training is an advantage.
• Discreet, composed under pressure, service-oriented, and able to work shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays.
