Operational Excellence Manager

We are seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Site Operational Excellence Director, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the site's continuous improvement strategy, enabling sustainable growth, increased productivity, and operational excellence across the organization.
As the site subject matter expert for Operational Excellence and Lean methodologies, you will lead the deployment of the Haleon Performance System (HAPS), champion a culture of continuous improvement, and drive performance improvements across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Productivity. This role combines strategic leadership, coaching, project management, and hands-on operational engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the deployment and continuous development of the site's Operational Excellence strategy and performance improvement roadmap.
Drive the implementation and maturity of the Haleon Performance System (HAPS), ensuring sustainable adoption across all functions.
Identify, prioritize, and deliver productivity and continuous improvement initiatives aligned to site business objectives.
Develop business cases and financial justifications for improvement projects and capital investments.
Establish and manage key performance indicators, including OEE, Yield, Efficiency, and Waste metrics, to support data-driven decision-making.
Partner with operations leaders to implement effective visual management systems that improve performance visibility and accountability.
Lead and facilitate Lean transformation activities, including Kaizen, SMED, 5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Centerlining, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Drive the implementation of Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing initiatives that support operational excellence objectives.
Coach and develop leaders at all levels, building capability in problem-solving, performance management, and continuous improvement practices.
Act as a catalyst for cultural transformation by promoting accountability, servant leadership, employee engagement, and continuous learning.
Challenge and influence leadership teams to identify performance gaps and implement sustainable improvement actions.
Build strong internal and external networks to share best practices, benchmark performance, and accelerate operational excellence capability.
Conduct regular Gemba walks to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.
Lead cross-functional teams in the successful delivery of strategic operational improvement projects.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, and/or significant experience within a manufacturing environment.
Proven project management experience with a track record of delivering operational improvement initiatives.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent Lean/Operational Excellence qualification.
Strong experience implementing Operational Excellence frameworks such as TPM, Lean Manufacturing, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), or Six Sigma.
Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations background with experience driving business performance improvement.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence and engage teams across all levels of an organization.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
5+ years' experience within manufacturing, operations, or operational excellence leadership roles.
Experience working within FMCG, pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare, or similarly fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated success leading cultural transformation and continuous improvement programs.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to challenge, coach, and influence senior stakeholders.
Experience developing and implementing performance management systems and business KPIs.
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Experience with Power BI, SAP, OEE systems, and other manufacturing performance tools.
Proven ability to build effective relationships from shop-floor teams through to executive leadership.
EUR 66,048.00 - EUR 90,816.00 The salary range for this position is indicative and provided as a guide. The final offer may vary depending on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. Further details regarding the total reward and benefits package will be shared during the recruitment process. Salary ranges may vary by location in line with local market conditions and applicable pay transparency regulations. Compensation information is shared for the primary location of this role.
