What does a successful Power BI Developer do at Fiserv

We are looking for a Power BI Developer who can transform complex data into clear, compelling insights that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will design and deliver scalable business intelligence solutions, develop data-rich dashboards and reports, and partner with business and technical teams to turn requirements into meaningful analytics outcomes.

A successful candidate brings strong experience in Power BI development, data modeling, SQL querying, and reporting, along with the ability to communicate insights in a simple and actionable way.

What you will do

• Partner with business and technical teams to understand reporting and analytics requirements in a BI context
• Design data models that transform raw data into meaningful business insights
• Create interactive dashboards, visual reports, and scorecards using Power BI
• Develop data-rich dashboards that support operational and strategic decision-making
• Write DAX expressions and custom calculations to meet reporting and analytics needs
• Create paginated reports for structured and pixel-perfect reporting requirements
• Implement row-level security in Power BI to support secure and role-based data access
• Identify and define key performance indicators with clear business objectives
• Analyze data and present insights through reports and dashboards that enable informed decisions
• Convert business requirements into technical specifications and support delivery planning
• Create relationships across datasets and develop tabular and multidimensional data models
• Document data flows, report logic, calculations, models, parameters, and relationships
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI solutions and scripts
• Enhance and optimize existing business intelligence solutions through technical and strategic improvements
• Build customized charts, calculations, and visualizations based on business needs
• Work closely with users and cross-functional teams to improve reporting performance and usability
• Apply best practices in BI design, development, governance, and continuous improvement

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or other data-focused roles
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI development
• Strong experience creating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations in Power BI
• Experience writing DAX expressions and building custom calculations
• Experience creating paginated reports
• Experience implementing row-level security in Power BI
• Strong knowledge of SQL querying and database management
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and OLAP concepts
• Experience translating business requirements into technical BI solutions
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and analytical insights to non-technical audiences

Preferred qualifications

• Experience developing custom business intelligence solutions
• Understanding of software development architecture and solution design
• Experience working in agile delivery environments
• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms and reporting ecosystems
• Experience with Fiserv data sources and platforms such as MBM, Odessa, Snowflake, Optis, and Palantir
