Deputy Director / Operations Technology

[What the role is]

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join the Ops Tech team. The successful candidate will be leading the transformation of urban greenery and parks management as Singapore transits into a City in Nature. The Ops Tech Deputy Director is responsible for leading a team to implement technology solutions that support the organization’s operational processes. As the Ops Tech Deputy Director, you play a crucial role in bridging the gap between operations and technology within the organization. This role requires you to work closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, innovation, and digital transformation. You might be required to travel to operational sites and work extended hours to engage overseas vendors and partners.

[What you will be working on]

• Lead the operations technology team in the implementation of a new model of urban greenery and parks management

• Collaborate and work closely with operations team, IT, and other departments to drive the implementation and deployment of new Ops technology systems within operational environments

• Engage and work with contractors in the landscape industry to facilitate the adoption of new technology in the new model of greenery and parks management

• Put up funding papers and submissions to support the digitalisation of urban greenery and parks management

• Work with third-party vendors and service providers from the tech team to scope, implement, and test technology solutions, ensuring they meet stated requirements

• Oversee proof of concepts (POC) projects from conception through to completion, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling of project timeline, and procurement

• Work with other public agencies to facilitate data sharing across agencies

• Share and present technology solutions to interested parties at various forums such as booth engagements, conferences, and media engagements

[What we are looking for]

• Candidate with at least 5 years of working experience in project management in technology or operations management in greenery and parks management

• Independent worker with a strong sense of purpose to achieve individual work targets and contribute to shared mission and goals

• Experience in managing or leading a team

• Strong organisational, collaborative, and interpersonal skills

• Able to work in a face-paced and dynamic environment with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines effectively

• Has good written and verbal communication skills

• Possesses strong critical thinking and analytical skills

• Comfortable on camera, with good presentation skills

• Adaptable with the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment
