Description of Work

Central Regional Hospital, a state psychiatric hospital located in Butner, NC, seeks an Administrative Specialist to provide office and clerical support to the personnel on C0 Adult Admission Unit. This position will function in an environment requiring complex multi-tasking and adjusting to sudden changes in the work environment. Demonstrated flexibility in learning new office procedures and working with others in a team environment.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $39,244.00 - $68,679.00

Recruitment Range: $39,244.00 - $51,000.00

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Requires working knowledge of basic computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including knowledge of appropriate grammar, sentence structure, and spelling.

  • Ability to compose memos and letters.

  • Ability to operate office equipment, including copier, computers, printers, multi-line phone system and fax machines.

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment. Management prefers knowledge of filing systems.

ADA physical requirements will be discussed during the interview, but include the ability to perform lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, and walking up and down stairs.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.  The normal working hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; however, flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.  This will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.
