We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineer. This position is located in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for capital investment projects, MOP projects, and plant improvement initiatives. Develop and review mechanical concepts, equipment layouts, technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation
• Coordinate suppliers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, startup, and handover. Review technical proposals, contractor designs, installation plans, and mechanical interfaces with other engineering disciplines
• Coordinate civil and structural works associated with assigned projects, including foundations, equipment supports, platforms, building modifications, drainage, and related construction interfaces
• Coordinate mechanical, piping, utility, civil, electrical, and automation interfaces to ensure safe and effective project execution. Participate in inspections, acceptance tests, commissioning, punch-list closure, and operational handover. Act as Project Manager for assigned MOP projects, ensuring delivery in line with approved safety, quality, scope, schedule, cost, and business objectives
• Provide technical support for mechanical breakdowns, equipment reliability issues, and business-critical maintenance activities. Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for mechanical equipment and utility systems
• Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions. Work with the Factory Service Team Leader to prioritize assigned maintenance activities and support plant reliability objectives. Support spare-parts evaluation, equipment lifecycle management, obsolescence planning, and maintenance improvement initiatives
• Ensure project and maintenance activities comply with company safety, environmental, engineering, and contractor-management requirements. Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, machinery safety reviews, and safe commissioning activities
• Maintain accurate engineering drawings, equipment records, specifications, calculations, inspection records, and project files. Ensure drawings and technical documents are updated after modifications and properly handed over to the Factory Service team. Apply appropriate document control and engineering change-management practices

Who you are

• You have bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• You have minimum five years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, industrial projects, manufacturing engineering, or maintenance engineering
• You have experience in project execution, civil and mechanical construction coordination, equipment installation, commissioning, and contractor management
• You have hands-on experience with production equipment, rotating equipment, pumps, piping, utilities, and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
• You have experience with engineering drawings, CAD tools, and technical document management
