Description
Our client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst with 7–15 years of capital markets experience to support a critical fixed income and trade surveillance initiative. You will gather regulatory and business requirements, translate them into detailed functional and technical specifications, and collaborate across Trading, Compliance, Surveillance, Technology, and Data teams to enhance surveillance platforms and monitoring workflows.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Support urgent capital markets initiative by gathering, analyzing, and translating business and regulatory requirements into comprehensive BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, and process flows
- Analyze trade/order data, surveillance scenarios, alerts, and data flows to identify process gaps and support platform enhancements
- Partner with Trading, Compliance, Surveillance, Technology, and Data teams to design and validate trade surveillance and market surveillance controls, alerts, and monitoring workflows
- Document detailed specifications for the trade lifecycle, including bonds, rates, and credit instruments across multiple asset classes
- Execute data mapping and querying activities using SQL to validate data flows and support requirements analysis
- Lead UAT planning and execution; manage defects and coordinate resolution with technical and business stakeholders
- Develop and maintain process documentation and data lineage to support ongoing platform optimization and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- 7–15 years of business analysis experience in capital markets, with demonstrated expertise in fixed income, trade surveillance, and/or market surveillance platforms
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, analysis, and data mapping across complex financial data structures
- Proven expertise in creating business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, and process flow documentation
- Solid understanding of trade lifecycle, bonds, rates, and credit instruments in fixed income markets
- Experience with UAT planning, execution, and defect management in a regulated financial services environment
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams including Trading, Compliance, Technology, and Data in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory and business requirements into clear technical specifications
