Compensation

Hourly base pay rate is $22.02 - $33.08/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.

The Accounting Intern is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and maintaining financial records to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. This role supports various accounting functions through journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting with a focus on compliance and operational efficiency. You will learn about Cox Automotive (and the automotive industry at large) through a series of functional and market-based project assignments specifically aligned to your area of study and aspirations. You will receive on-the-job training plus targeted development opportunities to help you engage with your strengths and crystallize your career interests. Here is a peek at the experiences that await you:   

• Working on real business projects.   
• Building relationships and interacting with cross-functional teams, internal and external customers, and key stakeholders.    
• Managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.    
• Analyzing business situations and problem-solving.

• Act as a team member within the Cox Automotive Corporate Accounting Team 
• Analyze data and perform computations for financial statements. 
• Ensure the accuracy of balance sheet accounts.  
• Assist in the preparation of balance reconciliations. 
• Perform ad hoc special projects.

• Currently a college student pursuing a BA/BS degree in a related field.     
• Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in ambiguity.    
• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.    
• Strong communication, relationship building, and organization skills.    
• Computer skills which includes Microsoft Office suite and Online research ability.    
• US work authorization (sponsorship is not available for this program).
