The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is responsible for leading and orchestrating the delivery of strategic change initiatives across the Trade & Working Capital domain. Acting as the servant leader of the Agile Release Train (ART), the RTE ensures alignment between business strategy, customer outcomes, regulatory obligations, and technology delivery.

The role drives Program Increment (PI) planning, release execution, dependency management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across multiple squads delivering Trade Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Liquidity Management, Digital Channels, Integration, Regulatory and Operational Excellence initiatives. The RTE enables predictable delivery of business value while fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership

• Own and manage the Trade & Working Capital delivery roadmap across multiple products and value streams.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives, regulatory programmes, technology upgrades, and operational improvements.
• Ensure delivery commitments align with business priorities, funding allocations, and capacity plans.
• Monitor delivery performance and provide transparency on progress, risks, and outcomes.

Program Increment Planning & Execution

• Facilitate PI Planning, ART Syncs, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
• Coordinate cross-squad planning, release readiness, and execution activities.
• Drive progressive elaboration of Epics, Features and User Stories to ensure delivery readiness.
• Partner with Product Owners and Delivery Leads to support prioritisation and sequencing decisions.

Dependency & Risk Management

• Identify, track, and manage cross-team dependencies and delivery risks.
• Escalate critical issues and impediments impacting delivery commitments.
• Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with Product, Technology, Operations, Architecture, Risk, Compliance and Vendor teams.
• Provide regular updates to leadership forums and governance committees.
• Facilitate decision-making and alignment across stakeholders to achieve delivery outcomes.

Continuous Improvement

• Promote Agile maturity and delivery excellence across the ART.
• Improve predictability, flow efficiency, and delivery performance metrics.
• Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams on Agile and SAFe practices.
