Why This Role Matters
Shive-Hattery has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist with 0 to 3 years of experience. If you're ready to grow your career in a supportive, people-first environment, we'd love to meet you. This role provides essential support to our Human Resources team and helps us to ensure day-to-day operations across the firm. You'll be part of a culture that values learning, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Provide day-to-day support for HR operations and assist business units with HR related needs
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
- Collect, track and analyze HR data for reporting and compliance purposes
- Assist with compensation and benefits administration
- Facilitate and support our firm's safety program
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals

- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office Suite; Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Familiarity with employment/labor laws and HR procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred, not required
- Human Resources Certification (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP) or a commitment to professional development is desirable
- Must be able to work in an office environment for up to 8 hours
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to travel as needed
- Experience in recordkeeping is a plus

This position is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment and may require travel to project sites, other Shive-Hattery office locations or to meet with clients. A full clean driver’s license is required. The role involves sitting, standing, and working at a computer for extended periods. May also require lifting light to medium weight objects of up to 50 lbs., the wearing of PPE and navigating active construction sites.
