Director - Finance Dynamet

Dynamet Incorporated, based in Washington, PA, is a leading domestic and international supplier of titanium alloy products. Acquired by Carpenter Technology in 1997, Dynamet supplies titanium bar, wire, fine wire, strip, and precision shapes for the aerospace, medical, consumer, motorsports and recreation industries. Committed to offering excellence and innovation in the manufacture of titanium and other specialty metal products, Dynamet ensures strict quality controls through its testing and analysis laboratory. Dynamet maintains a second manufacturing facility in western Florida.

The Director – Finance, PEP serves as the senior finance leader for the business unit, with end-to-end responsibility for the integrity of accounting and financial reporting, as well as forward-looking financial planning that supports profitable growth. This role acts as a strategic business partner, translating financial and operational insights into forecasts, investment priorities, performance improvement initiatives, and growth strategies.

The Director leads accounting, financial planning and analysis, forecasting, business performance management, capital allocation, and transaction support while partnering with shared services including Controllership, Treasury, Tax, and Internal Audit. This leader develops finance talent, ensures compliance with company policies and controls, and delivers accurate, timely, and actionable financial information to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Stewardship

• Lead all business unit accounting activities, including month-end and year-end close processes, management reporting, revenue and cost accounting, balance sheet integrity, and internal controls.
• Maintain a strong control environment and identify financial, operational, and compliance risks.
• Partner with Corporate Controllership, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, and other shared services to ensure compliance and consistency across financial processes.
• Ensure financial systems, reporting processes, and data integrity provide reliable information for business decision-making.
• Drive resolution of accounting, reporting, and process issues while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management

• Lead the annual operating plan, strategic planning process, rolling forecasts, and scenario analyses.
• Establish performance metrics and reporting routines related to revenue, margins, operating expenses, working capital, cash flow, and capital investments.
• Analyze business performance and identify key opportunities, risks, and trends.
• Develop profitability analyses by product line, customer, market, and channel to support pricing and resource allocation decisions.
• Improve forecasting accuracy through disciplined planning processes, analytics, and financial modeling.

Strategic Business Partnership & Growth

• Partner with business leadership to evaluate growth opportunities and convert strategic priorities into actionable financial plans.
• Develop financial business cases for pricing initiatives, capital investments, productivity improvements, and growth opportunities.
• Provide financial leadership for acquisitions, divestitures, integrations, and other strategic transactions, including valuation support and due diligence activities.
• Deliver insights and recommendations that balance growth, profitability, cash generation, and risk management.
• Lead special projects and cross-functional analyses that improve business performance and decision quality.

Leadership & Organizational Development

• Lead, coach, and develop accounting and finance managers and their teams.
• Build and sustain a high-performing finance organization focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and talent development.
• Establish clear expectations and performance standards while fostering an ethical and inclusive work environment.
• Influence senior leaders across functions through effective communication, sound judgment, and business partnership.
• Support the Company's commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and corporate citizenship.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Leadership Scope

• Provides leadership and direction through senior managers and may directly manage other managers.
• Executes business and finance plans while contributing to broader business unit and functional strategy.
• Accountable for the performance and results of multiple finance functions and disciplines.
• Leads organizational change initiatives focused on culture, process improvement, capability building, and enhanced business outcomes.
• Resolves highly complex financial and business issues that cross organizational boundaries.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
• MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced business credentials preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible finance or accounting experience.
• Significant leadership experience overseeing accounting, financial planning, forecasting, and business analysis.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or commercial operations preferred.
