The Senior Internal Communications Specialist will manage and create content for key internal communications vehicles owned by the Communications team, including an employee app, digital newsletters, video communications and more, as needed. This position will translate business strategies, company goals along with our mission and values, into dynamic content within multiple Internal Communications-owned (IC-owned) vehicles that engage and inform our field and corporate employees in the U.S.

This Hybrid role requires in-person work at our Newton, MA headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development of a content strategy that supports the company’s key business strategies, goals, mission, values, and culture
• Create and manage our Monday Memo vehicles on a weekly basis. This includes partnering with a variety of stakeholders, guiding them on submission strategy, editing all copy submitted in the back-end of Bright NOW and building each targeted memo and email on the back-end of Bright NOW
• Assist in the enhanced quarterly Staff Meetings which includes, but is not limited to, creating the introduction deck for the start of each meeting, creating the master deck which runs throughout each staff meeting, and providing day-of tech assistance before, during, and after each meeting
• Create and manage editorial calendars for Internal Communications-owned vehicles, including Bright Horizons News on Bright NOW, Monday Memo(s), The Weekly Buzz newsletter, the monthly teacher newsletter, and digital signage
• Monitor and update the company’s annual Internal Communications calendar, which tracks all key internal communications that get distributed daily
• Contribute to content creation and proofreading for internal vehicles, including crafting content and/or facilitating partners to draft content for publishing through leveraging an understanding of social media, digital and artificial intelligence (AI) best practices
• Draft, review, and edit messages to ensure that they are clear, thorough, on-brand, and seek to preserve the company's image
• Collect and source stories across the organization that can be developed into content including writing the copy as well as designing communications plans where appropriate
• Contribute to and manage video communications as needed, including our video series Buzz Spotlight
• Evaluate and assess effectiveness of IC-owned internal channels by utilizing data reporting which is now shared on a monthly cadence with the entire team to enable more data-driven decisions
• Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication campaigns and tools
• Clearly compile and report data on the success of internal communications campaigns, messaging and tools
• Make recommendations on how to enhance and expand internal communications outreach and engagement. Keeps apprised of new trends and innovations in internal communications and brings new and creative insights into the organization

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism or English
• 4 years of experience working in internal communications with a strong focus on writing and content management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience overseeing the production of digital newsletters, communications and social media content
• Experience in using content management systems or intranets, including Firstup and Microsoft Sharepoint
• Experience leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for aiding communications processes
• High level of organizational skills, including great attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure, handle changing priorities, and simultaneously handle multiple projects/priorities
• Business acumen and superior written and verbal communication skills; writing sample may be required
• Demonstrated examples of relationship-building across a large organization
• Experience in video communications, including script writing, serving as a host, and working with a video editing team a plus
• Must always come from a place of positive intent and share Bright Horizons’ values
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $72,000 – $81,000 annually. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
