Description
We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a Credit Specialist to join a dynamic and high-performing team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who thrives on analysing financial information, structuring tailored lending solutions, and building strong relationships with high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
Responsibilities:
- Support and manage a portfolio of HNW and UHNW clients.
- Attend client meetings alongside lending specialists and advisory teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of client group structures across lending, investments, insurance and transactional banking.
- Analyse financial statements, cash flows, trends, forecasts and industry-specific risks and opportunities.
- Identify lending opportunities aligned to clients' wealth creation and balance sheet optimisation strategies.
- Structure lending transactions and prepare comprehensive credit submissions.
- Present credit recommendations to relevant decision-makers and committees.
- Communicate credit outcomes, structures, covenants and processes to clients and stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio risk, covenants and deal-specific reviews.
- Proactively identify and address economic, industry and client-specific risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver effective client solutions and exceptional customer experiences.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to enhance value, efficiency and service delivery.
Requirements:
- BCom in Finance or Accounting (CA qualification advantageous).
- Minimum of 1–3 years' credit experience within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong business acumen and a sound understanding of credit risk assessment.
- Advanced financial statement analysis and cash flow modelling skills.
- Ability to forecast financial performance, perform ratio analysis and construct lending covenants.
- A solution-driven, deal-making mindset with strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- High levels of integrity, attention to detail and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
