Are you a passionate, tenacious problem solver who enjoys working with others who share your drive? Are you positive, constructive, and ingenious?

Are you always solving?

Then we’d like to meet you and bet you’d like to meet us.

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence Director to join our Ashland Industries Europe GmbH business at our Schaffhausen, Switzerland site. This is a highly visible and significant leadership role within the Company and the Supply Chain function, reporting to the SVP, Operations. The role will have a matrix connection for enterprise governance and will interface with SVP business-unit leaders, Supply Chain Directors, Asset Directors, Regional General Managers, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Quality/Regulatory, and SAP ECC/SAP S/4HANA leaders. A key component of this role is enterprise production balancing, including SBU planning across the organization, together with S&OP/S&OE governance, demand planning through Arkieva, inventory balancing, ocean freight and transportation, and logistics and warehousing excellence.

The role sits at the center of a global operating model supporting approximately 16–17 manufacturing sites, regional distribution networks, multiple business units, and both regulated and non-regulated manufacturing environments. The position will lead the shift from regional optimization to enterprise-wide decision making and performance optimization.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Chair enterprise balancing processes across demand, supply, inventory, capacity, and customer-service levels and categorization.

  • Own planning policy, decision rights, RACI governance, escalation thresholds and executive trade-off processes.

Lead SAP S/4HANA planning readiness, including master-data governance, planning templates, and KPI standards.

  • Govern demand planning methodologies, forecast accuracy, bias management and Arkieva-to-SAP integration.

  • Establish inventory control policies, service-model inventory strategies, allocation guardrails and working-capital controls.

Set global standards for warehouses, third-party logistics providers, transportation, ocean freight, carrier management, and logistics audits.

  • Own performance management through OTIF/OTS, forecast accuracy, inventory health, plan stability and logistics scorecards.

  • Build organizational capability and act as the enterprise authority for supply chain governance.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

15+ years of leadership experience in supply chain, S&OP/IBP, manufacturing planning, logistics, inventory management, or operations.

7+ years leading global supply chain organizations, cross-functional teams, or enterprise transformation programs; experience with enterprise transformation is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in specialty chemicals, ingredients, consumer products, life sciences, pharmaceutical or other process manufacturing environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise with SAP ECC/S/4HANA, SAP IBP/APO, EWM/TM, Arkieva or equivalent planning platforms.

  • Proven success designing operating models, governance frameworks, KPI systems, decision catalogs and master-data controls.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, Chemistry or related discipline; MBA or Master’s preferred.

  • CPIM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma and project/program management certifications preferred.

  • Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.

  • Ability to help the company create greater value by understanding the business, making complex decisions, and developing new and differentiated solutions.
