About TEGNA

TEGNA Inc. helps people thrive in their local communities by providing the trusted local news and services that matter most. With 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, TEGNA reaches more than 100 million people monthly across the web, mobile apps, streaming, and linear television. Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news.

The Marketing Lead is the primary strategic partner to the Regional Marketing Director (RMD) and drives marketing execution across the full ecosystem of centralized capabilities: Production, Paid Media, Social, CRM and Lifecycle. This role translates strategy into integrated campaign plans, owns the campaign calendar, and is the day-to-day marketing contact for station leadership across the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • This person excels at navigating complexity, building stakeholder trust, and leading integrated work across multiple teams and markets.

Strategic & Campaign Leadership

  • Develop the campaign brief for each initiative — translating RMD strategy into an integrated plan with clear objectives, target audiences, key messages, channel mix and success metrics — and submit to the RMD for approval before execution begins.
  • Own the regional campaign calendar and integrated delivery timeline; ensure all campaigns are planned, resourced and launched on time and to spec.
  • Lead campaign development and execution, coordinating across Production, Paid, Social, CRM, Lifecycle and other centralized capabilities.
  • Direct Marketing Specialist to initiate campaign setup in monday.com; confirm boards are complete with the right assignments, timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Production through the creative development process — bring the audience, brand, and business context to concept development and scripting.
  • Hold creative and strategic standards across all campaign deliverables; ensure every asset is on-brand, on-message, and built to perform.
  • Drive clarity and prioritization across a complex portfolio of concurrent campaigns; make informed trade-offs and escalate strategic conflicts to the RMD as needed.

Station Partnership & Communications

  • Serve as the day-to-day marketing partner to station general managers, news directors and content leaders across the region.
  • Communicate campaign plans, status, and results clearly to station stakeholders; manage expectations, align on priorities and surface issues early.
  • Maintain the continuity and market context that allow centralized teams to move fast and with credibility in each market.

Campaign Performance & Team Development

  • Establish measurement frameworks for campaigns; track and report performance against objectives for the RMD and station leadership.
  • Apply audience data, ratings, digital analytics and market feedback to sharpen campaign strategy; translate performance patterns into recommendations that improve future planning and strengthen the team's overall approach.
  • Model campaign management discipline, strategic thinking and stakeholder communications; raise the overall capability and consistency of the marketing team.

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years in marketing, integrated campaign management or brand strategy — media, broadcast or a fast-moving content environment strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead integrated campaigns across multiple markets, channels and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills; comfortable translating complex strategy into clear stakeholder-ready messaging and creative briefs.
  • Strong command of campaign planning, prioritization and project management; experience with monday.com, Asana or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across paid media, social, CRM, content and other marketing channels toward shared campaign outcomes.
  • Familiarity with audience research, ratings, digital analytics and performance measurement in a media or broadcast context.
  • Comfortable operating in a 24/7 news-driven environment with fast-moving priorities, breaking news demands and tight timelines.
  • Must be willing to travel to markets within the portfolio when needed.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
