National Interstate is looking for a Facilities Manager to join their team. This individual will work full time out of the Richfield office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Oversees and plans routine inspections and preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems. Ensures schedules are met and standards maintained.
- Manages response to maintenance requests and troubleshooting activities. Ensures timely resolution and escalates critical issues as needed.
- Leads and reviews repair work on office furniture, fixtures, and structural components.
- Develops seasonal grounds maintenance plans, including snow and ice removal strategies; allocates resources and monitors execution.
- Manages relationships with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations. May negotiate service agreements.
- Ensures compliance with company and regulatory safety programs. Conducts audits and implements corrective actions when necessary.
- Oversees maintenance records, inspections, and repair documentation. Prepares reports and recommends process improvements to leadership.
- Leads emergency response and disaster recovery efforts; coordinates resources and communicates with stakeholders during critical events.
- Plans and manages office moves, furniture installations, and workspace reconfigurations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- May lead the team in providing janitorial support as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 10 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field, including a minimum of 4 years of leadership experience.
Scope of Job/Qualifications: Requires a minimum of 2 reports. Implements policies, procedures, and strategies under the direction of management. Responsible for performance and coaching of staff and has a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management. Maintains advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems. Maintains advanced knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, industry developments, and evolving best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ensures new team members receive proper training and meet performance targets.
