Independently performs skilled preventive maintenance work in operating, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling a variety of air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems and equipment and performs other related duties as assigned.To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Experience: FOUR (4) YEARS of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance and overhaul of air conditioning and/or refrigeration equipment as a helper or apprentice under a journey level air conditioning and/or refrigeration mechanic.
Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements, will apply.
Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Physical Requirements: Some positions require the ability to lift and carry items of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
