Financial Controller

Pike County Hospital is hiring a Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting for our rural Critical Access Hospital.

“The Financial Controller leads the hospital’s accounting operations and is accountable for the integrity, completeness, timeliness, and supportability of its financial records and financial statements.” “Ensure timely preparation of accurate balance sheet, statement of operations, cash flow, and other required financial/statistical reports.”
 

What You’ll Do

• Lead monthly and annual close processes
• Prepare/review journal entries, accruals, and financial statements
• Oversee reconciliations, internal controls, cash management, AP, and payroll accounting
• Manage schedules for debt, leases, investments, fixed assets, and capital projects
• Coordinate audit requests and maintain audit‑ready work papers
• Support cost report schedules, reimbursement reviews, and payer settlement entries
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Supervise and develop accounting staff

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including month‑end close
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal control experience
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and integrated accounting/ERP systems
• Demonstrated leadership and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2–3 years hospital/healthcare accounting (CAH preferred)
• Supervisory experience
• CPA, CMA, HFMA credential, or master’s degree
• Experience with cost reports, grants, and audit preparation
