Description
As a Production Manager, you will oversee all phases of event production—from pre‑production planning to on-site execution and post-event wrap-up. You will coordinate internal teams (creative, fabrication, logistics) and external vendors to ensure installations are delivered smoothly, safely, on time, and within budget. This is a highly collaborative, onsite role with significant responsibility for operations and execution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning, scheduling, and execution of production timelines for experiential events, activations, and installations.Coordinate with creative, design, fabrication, and logistics teams to align on production needs.Manage vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiating, and overseeing third-party contractors (rental houses, set builders, etc.).Oversee build‑in, event execution, and de-rig (“tear-down”) processes.Ensure all production elements are installed correctly according to creative and technical specs.Conduct pre-event walk-throughs and site surveys to assess needs, challenges, and logistics.Lead onsite production teams, directing crew members (set builders, stagehands, technicians) throughout setup and breakdown.Monitor production budgets; track labor, materials, shipping, and logistics costs.Develop risk management plans and ensure compliance with safety standards.Troubleshoot technical or logistical issues on site as they arise; propose and implement solutions quickly.Create and manage production documentation, including schedules, site diagrams, and call sheets.Communicate closely with account management and clients to provide updates, progress reports, and approvals.Conduct post‑event evaluations, capturing learnings, issues, and recommendations for future productions.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in production management, event management, theater, design, or related field, preferred.5+ years of production management experience, ideally in experiential marketing, events, or live production.Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple events in parallel.Knowledge of fabrication processes, set construction, lighting, audio, and video production.Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience managing on‑site teams.Proven budgeting and financial management skills.Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.Highly detail-oriented, with ability to anticipate and mitigate risks proactively.Ability to travel and work onsite during activations, sometimes with irregular hours.Competency with production planning tools, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.Work Environment & ConditionsPrimarily an onsite role during event builds, activations, and teardown.Requires flexibility in schedule: long days, nights, weekends, and travel may be necessary.Environment includes construction-like conditions, backstage areas, and event sites.Regular coordination with vendors, creative staff, and production crews under tight timelines.Why Work at BMF?Play a critical role in creating high-impact, memorable brand experiences.Work with a creative, passionate team that values innovation and craftsmanship.Opportunity for growth into senior production leadership or operations roles.Be part of a company shaping the future of experiential marketing.
