Job Description
This role supports the development of skilled craft talent by providing hands-on instruction, classroom training, mentorship and skills assessments across multiple construction trades and workforce development programs. Partners closely with operations, apprenticeship & journeyman programs, workforce development teams, safety and field leadership to ensure training aligns with company standards, industry best practices and project workforce needs. The ideal candidate is an experienced craft professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, communication abilities, and a passion for developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver classroom, hands-on, and field-based instruction for construction craft and skilled trades training programs
Train apprentices, pre-apprentices, journeymen and other craft employees on technical skills, safety standards, tools, equipment, and construction processes
Conduct craft skills assessments, evaluations, and practical demonstrations
Support apprenticeship, journeyman and workforce development programs through structured training
Build strong relationships with craft professionals and field leaders to promote a culture of continuous learning and development
Evaluate craft skill progression and provide feedback to employees and field leadership, maintain training records, attendance documentation, certifications and assessment results
Assist with development of trade-specific career pathways and upskilling programs
Participate in curriculum improvements and initiatives
Stay current on industry trends, codes, technologies, safety standards, and best practices within assigned trades
Education
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Experience
Journeyman-level experience or equivalent field experience in a skilled construction trade required
5+ years of construction craft or skilled trades experience preferred
Prior teaching, mentoring, foreman, superintendent, apprenticeship instruction or workforce development experience preferred
Experience with apprenticeship & journeyman programs, NCCER and workforce development training preferred
Certifications:
NCCER Instructor Certification or equivalent instructional certification highly preferred
OSHA 30 Certification Preferred
Experience supporting union and non-union workforce environments
CPR/First Aid Certification Preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish

Salary is just one component of DPR's total compensation package.
Arizona, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Richmond range: $78,000 to $97,000. Sacramento, San Diego, TX, Colorado, New Jersey, Philadelphia range: $85,800 to $106,700. Seattle, Boston, DC, Pasadena range: $93,600 to $116,400. Bay Area range: $101,400 to $126,100
