Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of maintenance and/or operations experience, preferably with exposure to both
Experience managing, stewarding, and developing budgets that support integrated operations; this role supports an annual maintenance budget of approximately $50M
Preference for SAGD experience, with a solid understanding of plant operations, maintenance priorities, and safe work execution
Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, work prioritization, and execution in a fast-paced operating environment
Strong commitment to safety and operational discipline, with the ability to make sound, risk-based decisions
Strong communication, collaboration, relationship-building skills, and a continuous improvement mindset
Experience with outage and turnaround planning and execution
Exposure to reliability, QA, and engineering interfaces within a SAGD plant
A valid driver’s license
Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
Coordinate maintenance activities within the Production Unit to support safe, reliable, and efficient execution
Provide Operations input on maintenance priorities, requirements, and weekly scheduling, with safety and production risk as key considerations
Review and prioritize Work Notifications daily, ensuring work that poses significant risk to people, environment, or production is advanced appropriately
Ensure Work Notifications are properly screened and contain sufficient detail to support safe and effective planning and execution
Represent the Production Unit in readiness and prioritization meetings and approve the weekly maintenance schedule
Monitor work order lifecycle performance and backlog health, working closely with Maintenance Execution and Planning to support safe, compliant, and timely completion of work
Provide Operations input to outage and turnaround planning, scoping, and execution support
Support stewardship of the Production Unit maintenance budget, including forecasting, accruals, cost tracking, and recommending actions to meet budget targets
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, QA teams to maintain equipment in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner
Lead the development of the Production Unit’s 10-year maintenance budget and long-range plan, collaborating with technical and maintenance teams to ensure alignment with integrated operations, asset needs, and business priorities
Identify capital spending needs and support change management activities related to asset changes and operating practice updates
Location and Other Key Details:
You will work out of our Firebag location, which is our largest In Situ operation and one of the largest in the world (and located 120 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta)
This is a FIFO camp-based position; you will FIFO from a Suncor hub location: Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta
The shift schedule is a 4 days on / 3 days off rotation
