Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Plant Engineer to support the development, operation, and optimization of industrial facilities focused on renewable gas energy projects, including biogas, RNG (Renewable Natural Gas), and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient plant operations, managing engineering projects, and implementing sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day engineering operations at the plant, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance.
- Lead and support the design, installation, and commissioning of renewable gas systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement engineering solutions for process improvements.
- Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses for renewable gas projects.
- Monitor plant performance and troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
- Ensure all systems operate in accordance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, including reports, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants during project execution.
- Support CAPEX planning and project management for facility upgrades and expansions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in industrial plant operations, with a focus on renewable gas, biogas, or related energy sectors.
- Strong understanding of gas treatment processes, anaerobic digestion, compression, and injection systems.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, NFPA, EPA).
- Proficient in engineering software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Aspen HYSYS, etc.).
- Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or additional certifications in renewable energy or sustainability.
- Experience with SCADA systems and plant automation.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting and reporting processes.
