Job Summary
The Logistics Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the movement of cargo through Maersk's global supply chain network. The role focuses on planning transportation activities, ensuring efficient use of resources, monitoring shipment performance, and maintaining high levels of customer service while controlling operational costs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate the movement of cargo across trucking networks
Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery of goods
Optimize transportation routes, capacity utilization, and equipment allocation
Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems (TMS) and other operational platforms
Plan and coordinate driver schedules and transportation routes 3-4 days in advance while making real-time adjustments throughout the workday to optimize service levels and operational efficiency
Manage exceptions such as delays, disruptions, capacity shortages, or customer escalations
Collaborate with fellow on-site Logistics Planner to ensure continuous operational coverage and effective execution of daily logistics activities
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
Maintain accurate shipment records and update transportation management systems
Required Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, transportation management, terminal, and logistics operating systems
Experienced in retrieving, analyzing, and managing port and terminal operational data to support transportation planning and decision-making
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with drivers, customers, terminals, carriers, and internal stakeholders
Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to identify operational challenges, implement corrective actions, and maintain service excellence
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field or 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain planning, or operations in lieu of degree
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm. Some weekends may be required, depending on business needs.

Pay Range
$65,000 - $70,000 per year
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
