Description

Wanstor is an award-winning Managed IT Services provider helping ambitious organisations use technology to achieve better business outcomes — securely, efficiently, and at scale. Established in 2002, we deliver end-to-end technology services spanning managed IT support, cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, communications, and AI adoption services.

Our approach is built around three core principles:
Experience First – delivering proactive, seamless technology experiences that reduce friction and help customers stay productive.
AI Fluent – embracing AI within our own services while helping customers confidently adopt intelligent automation and AI-driven ways of working.
Secure by Default – embedding security and resilience into everything we design, deliver, and support.

At Wanstor, our people are our greatest strength. We combine technical expertise with a service-first mindset, creating an environment where talented individuals can grow, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact for our customers.

We’re proud of the careers people build here. Across the business, there are many examples of colleagues progressing into new roles, expanding their skills, and building long-term careers at Wanstor. We’re committed to creating an environment where people are supported to develop, grow, and succeed.

We're looking for a Network Architect to join our growing Networking team at Wanstor.

This is a hands-on architecture role, combining customer solution design, technical leadership and implementation across a diverse range of customer environments. You'll play a key role in shaping secure, scalable and resilient network solutions, working closely with customers from initial design through to delivery.

As a senior member of the team, you'll act as a technical authority for networking technologies, supporting complex projects, contributing to presales activities and providing guidance to engineers across the business.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of networking and security technologies, with a particular focus on modern network architectures, SD-WAN and the Fortinet ecosystem. Experience with FortiGate is highly desirable, whilst exposure to technologies such as ZTNA, CASB and threat protection would be advantageous, though not essential.

If you enjoy solving complex networking challenges, influencing technical direction and remaining close to the technology, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact within an award-winning MSP supporting a wide range of customers across the UK.

What You'll Do

• Design secure, scalable and resilient network solutions across customer and internal environments.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of complex networking projects.
• Produce high and low-level designs, technical documentation and implementation plans.
• Act as a senior technical lead throughout project delivery, ensuring solutions are delivered to a high standard.
• Design, implement and optimise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and wireless networking solutions.
• Work with technologies including Fortinet and other leading networking vendors.
• Contribute to network security, resilience and performance improvements across customer and hosted environments.
• Mentor engineers within the networking team and promote technical best practice.
• Research emerging technologies and help shape the future direction of the networking practice.

What You'll Need

• Strong networking experience across LAN, WAN, wireless and network security technologies.
• Experience with Fortinet technologies, particularly FortiGate
• Experience designing and delivering network solutions within customer environments.
• A hands-on approach, with the ability to move between design, implementation and technical problem solving.
• Experience leading or owning complex networking projects.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
• An interest in modern networking technologies, including SD-WAN and network security.
• A passion for technology, continuous improvement and sharing knowledge with others.

What You'll Love

🌴 Generous Time Off: Enjoy 24 days of annual leave, increasing by 1 day each year up to 28 days, plus Bank Holidays.
📚 Continuous Learning: Participate in regular lunch and learn sessions with both internal and external speakers.
🌟 Personal Development: Take advantage of 5 paid days annually to pursue new skills or knowledge.
🤝 Volunteer Opportunities: Contribute to your community with 2 paid volunteer days each year.
🎉 Team Spirit: Join a friendly team and engage in various social events organised throughout the year.
