Laser Operator - Swing Shift

Salary range: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour

Primary job duties

The laser operator is responsible for operating our Trumpf 4050 laser and our Amada FOM230 15NT. This role will ensure that assigned orders are processed in a safe and efficient manner to the highest quality standards. This role will also ensure that product outputs conform to all of the customers' requirements and noted specifications, and that identified discrepancies are handled in an expedient manner by following the appropriate quality processes.

• Inspect the laser and associated equipment for safety and mechanical condition prior to use; initiate the appropriate actions for any identified discrepancies
• Identify, select, and handle materials to be laser cut per the applicable procedures
• Identify customer requirements, which may include reading drawings or blueprints, and approach product related activities from the customers' perspective
• Identify inspection criteria
• Set-up and operate the Laser to cut parts per the work order, supporting documents, and all applicable procedures
• Finish, package and stage final products for shipment
• Complete required job forms, including associated nests and work order documentation
• Use appropriate quality procedures and tools to initiate the management of discrepancies and opportunities for improvement

Requirements

The qualified candidate will have:

• Three years of experience running CO2 Lasers.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience
• Experience with crane accessories such as magnets, plate clamps and vacuum lifters.
