Join our team as the Manager of Primary Care Linwood (Adult & Pediatrics), where you'll help shape the future of ambulatory healthcare by leading teams, driving operational improvements, and supporting exceptional care.

Working closely with the Senior Director of Primary Care, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for the Linwood Primary Care clinic and registration team while overseeing daily clinic operations, staff development, quality improvement initiatives, and data-driven decision-making. What You'll Do:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Primary Care staff while supporting the overall goals of the organization

  • Lead, mentor, develop, and manage staff across multiple campuses, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, professional development, corrective action, and employment decisions.

  • Ensure team members maintain the knowledge, competencies, and skills necessary to provide exceptional patient care and customer service.

  • Manage staffing schedules to meet daily patient volumes, coordinate coverage for unexpected absences, and adjust staffing plans to support changing operational needs.

  • Support daily clinic operations by assisting with front office activities, resolving complex patient concerns, facilitating patient surveys, and ensuring timely scheduling, rescheduling, and patient transportation.

  • Coordinate personnel activities with leadership, including recruitment, employee development, performance management, and departmental training programs.

  • Assess staff competencies, identify process improvement opportunities, develop training curriculum, and deliver education through multiple learning methods to support employee success.

  • Serve as a recognized liaison between Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) partners and University Health across multiple organizational divisions.

  • Design, lead, and evaluate performance improvement initiatives by establishing project teams, defining timelines, communicating progress, implementing solutions, and measuring outcomes.

  • Oversee department inventory, ensuring adequate supplies, office equipment, business equipment, and medical equipment are available to support daily operations.

  • Manage department purchasing processes and coordinate equipment maintenance to ensure uninterrupted clinic operations.

  • Partner with the Senior Director to achieve departmental goals through both short-term and long-term strategic planning.

  • Prepare ongoing quality assurance reviews and lead performance improvement projects that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

  • Assist in the development and management of the annual department budget while maintaining clinic statistics and operational reports.

  • Develop innovative solutions that improve workflows, optimize clinic operations, and support organizational strategic initiatives.

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify new services, growth opportunities, and revenue-generating initiatives.

  • Lead data collection, reporting, and dashboard development for the Primary Care Division.

  • Partner with inpatient leadership to support data reporting needs across the service line.

  • Serve as the department's data expert by maintaining proficiency with reporting systems, performance metrics, and operational analytics.

  • Promote a culture of quality improvement, patient safety, employee engagement, and diversity through daily leadership and operational excellence.

  • Foster a professional, respectful, and welcoming environment for patients, families, providers, visitors, and colleagues.

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, organizational policies, the Code of Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Plan, and required compliance education.

What You'll Bring (Requirements)

  • Baccalaureate in Nursing or a Graduate Degree in Nursing.

  • Current Missouri RN License

  • Minimum three (3) years management experience, preferably in health care; those with a Graduate degree in Nursing are required to have two years demonstrated leadership experience.

  • Possess and maintain BLS and/or ACLS

  • Knowledge and experience in Performance Improvement processes, and applicable governmental and health care regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge and comfort with participatory management approaches, which involve clinical department chairman, medical staff, and various levels of management in addition to external agencies and regulating bodies.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Outgoing person with high service orientation.

  • Sound judgment sufficient to ensure the integrity of operations and to provide exemplary leadership in the development of teamwork among staff.

  • Considerable skill in facilitating problem solving.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Computer aptitude.
