Job Description:
Penn Color is looking for an HR Generalist to provide day-to-day human resources support to employees and managers. This role serves as a trusted partner across the employee lifecycle, supporting employee relations, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, training, benefits, compliance, and HR programs.
The ideal candidate has at least five years of broad HR experience, strong judgment, and the ability to balance employee advocacy with business needs.
This role reports to the VP, Human Resources at the corporate headquarters in Hatfield, PA. It is an onsite, 5 days a week role. No hybrid schedule.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers, providing timely and practical guidance.
- Coach managers on employee relations, performance expectations, corrective action, attendance, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate, consistent resolutions.
- Support recruiting activities: candidate screening and interviews.
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding and support a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
- Administer HR policies, programs, and procedures consistently and in compliance with applicable laws.
- Support performance management, goal setting, talent reviews, employee development, and future Talent Management activities.
- Partner with leaders to identify training needs and coordinate development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate employee records and process and / or support managers for employment changes in the HRIS.
- Support employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and company-sponsored events.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company requirements.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification required.
- At least five years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and performance matters.
- Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, and HR programs.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving / analytical skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR information systems; Workday experience is a plus.
