POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources function while helping foster a positive, compliant, and inclusive workplace. This position partners with managers across multiple distribution centers in different states, providing guidance on a broad range of HR matters, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and employment law compliance. The Human Resources Generalist also leads or contributes to HR initiatives and cross-functional projects that enhance employee experience, strengthen HR processes, and support business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee Relations
- Foster positive employee relations and contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and engaging workplace culture.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on company policies, employment practices, and HR procedures to ensure legal compliance and consistent application.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employee concerns, proactively identifying trends and recommending practical solutions to improve the employee experience.
- Conduct employee relations investigations thoroughly, objectively, and professionally, documenting findings and supporting timely, appropriate resolutions.
- Coach and advise managers on employee performance issues, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes.
Performance Management
- Partner with managers to identify and address performance concerns early through coaching, feedback, and appropriate documentation.
- Ensure performance management documentation is accurate, consistent, and compliant with company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Support the annual performance review process, including manager guidance, employee communications, and process administration.
HR Analytics & Insights
- Analyze HR and workforce data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for continuous improvement.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders.
- Leverage data to support decision-making and evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
HR Projects & Cross-function Collaboration
- Collaborate with HR team members to implement, communicate, and continuously improve HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships through clear, approachable, and professional verbal and written communication.
- Tech-savvy with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) or comparable tools to analyze data, develop reports, and present insights.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities, execute processes accurately, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience, preferably supporting logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution center operations.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience handling employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations, and supporting performance management.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations is required; experience supporting employees across multiple states is preferred.
- Experience using an HRIS is required; Workday experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting recruiting and/or Workers' Compensation administration is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically within the United States up to 10% of the time, as business needs require.
