A member of the Human Resources department, this position performs para-professional/ technical work in various program areas such as recruitment, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, benefit administration, and leave of absence administration. The Human Resources Generalist also develops and drives creative HR initiatives and activities and serves as a liaison between the human resources department and members of the Lyons Magnus management team.
Pay Range: $27.00–$31.50/hour
Hours: 12:00pm–9:00pm
Schedule: Monday–Friday

Core Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Ensure compliance of company policies, including pre-employment processes, hiring, training, and payroll practices in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Onboarding: Develop and oversee new hire orientation and onboarding efforts. This includes full-cycle recruiting: identifying staff vacancies, oversee job announcements, and facilitate new employee orientation and training.
- Benefits Administration: Administer all tasks related to benefits, including but not limited to open enrollment, qualifying events, reconciliation of invoices, and inputting payroll with deductions (child support, levy’s, garnishments, etc.)
- Leave of Absence Administration: Administer leave of absences in accordance with Federal and State employment laws. This includes but is not limited to engaging in the interactive process, providing employees with designation letters and notice of rights and responsibility, tracking medical certifications, and communicating with supervisors regarding return-to-work dates and accommodations.
- Employee Relations: Assist with investigating a variety of employee-related issues, incidents and complaints; resolve disputes and recommend appropriate/remedial actions. Assist in the employee termination process (including but not limited to coordinating final paycheck, performing exit interviews, and completing exit paperwork).
- Employee Files & Reporting: Maintains and updates employee information. Prepares reports as designated by the HR leadership. Complies and analyzes data for accurate and objective measurements of HR performance.
- Employee Recognition: Promotes a fun and engaging employee environment. Helps to plan and coordinate employee recognition events, including but not limited to employee luncheons, holiday events, and retirement celebrations.
- Maintains and updates employee information: Prepares reports as designated by the HR leadership. Complies and analyzes data for accurate and objective measurements of HR performance.
- Performs other duties as reasonably assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, with the ability to understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, laws, ordinances, and company policies while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, food safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, HRIS software, filing systems, and records management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated professionalism, including sound judgment, discretion, integrity, diplomacy, and a customer-focused approach when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to represent the organization professionally through appropriate conduct and appearance.
- Commitment to supporting the company's mission, vision, and core values while maintaining the organization's best interests.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources Management or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in human resources or risk management support.
- HR certification (HRCI or SHRM).
