General Ledger Accountant

As our European Finance Shared Service Center in Hatvan continues to grow, we are expanding our General Ledger team and looking for new colleagues to support the accounting activities of several Johnson Electric entities across Europe, including Switzerland and Poland.

Depending on the scope, you will take ownership of General Ledger accounting and closing activities for one of our European entities, working in an international environment and collaborating closely with finance teams and business stakeholders across countries.

Your responsibilities will be to: 

• Perform end-to-end General Ledger accounting activities under IFRS
• Ensure compliance of bookings with accounting principles, internal and external regulations
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year end closing activities for the European entity within your scope
• Contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting packages
• Work closely with AR, AP, and Controlling during closing cycles.
• Support fixed assets and inventory accounting activities
• Ensure deadlines are met and high quality of data is provided
• Participate in internal and external audit processes

Our requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• Certified accountant qualification (or equivalent professional accounting certification) is required
• Solid General Ledger background with minimum 5 years’ professional experience in a relevant GL accounting position
• Fluency in English (spoken and written is essential)
• Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment
• Accuracy, ownership, and strong problem-solving mindset

Would be advantageous:

• Work experience in international business environment
• IFRS experience highly valued
• Oracle experience
