What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Lead Pharmacy Technician to join the Oncology Services within our Pharmacy team, with a salary of up to £52,000.

This is a full-time, Monday to Sunday role. 5x 7.5 hour shifts per week with the following hours:

08:00 – 16:00, 09:00 – 17:00 or 10:00 – 18:00

Reporting to the Lead Pharmacist – Oncology, the Lead Oncology Pharmacy Technician will lead on the technical aspects of the oncology pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation, professional standards and clinical requirements, implementing oncology medicines optimisation strategies, strengthen governance frameworks, and developing a highly skilled technician workforce. The role is structured across three interconnected area: Governance, Clinical (Medicines Management), and Management/Leadership. The post-holder will lead on oncology medicines management across inpatient and outpatient settings.

What will your duties include?

• Lead, coordinate, and participate in audits, service evaluations and quality improvement within oncology pharmacy.

• Proactively implement local and national medication safety directives, ensuring the medication safety agenda is taken forward effectively within oncology.

• Oversee day-to-day oncology medicines management, including support on ward-prepared monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).

• Process Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) prescriptions in accordance with local and national standards; support dispensing coordination and timely medicines supply.

• Line manage Pharmacy Technicians working within oncology and oversee operational delivery of technician services in oncology.

What we need from you?

• Pharmacy Technician registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) (Essential).

• NVQ3 Pharmaceutical Sciences plus BTEC or equivalent (Essential).

• Accredited Checking Technician qualification (Essential).

• Medicines Management Technician qualification (Essential).

• Practice/Education Supervisor Course via HEE (Essential).

• Substantial experience working within oncology pharmacy services.
