Business Analyst - Business Intelligence & Analytics

As a Business Analyst on the ITW Welding Business Intelligence & Analytics team, you will act as the primary liaison between our business stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Manufacturing divisions) and our BI development team. You will be responsible for gathering, documenting, and prioritizing business requirements; ensuring KPI definitions are consistent; and translating organizational needs into technical specifications for dashboards, analytics, and data models.

You will partner closely with our IT Data Team (who manage and curate the Azure Data Lake) and with internal stakeholders to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, relevant, and actionable. Your ability to understand business context, ask the right questions, and communicate clearly will help elevate BI&A’s role as a strategic partner.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing leaders to identify reporting and analytics needs.

• Document and prioritize requirements for dashboards, measures, and KPIs.

• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for BI developers.

• Validate and align KPI definitions across divisions to ensure consistency.

• Support intake, prioritization, and communication of BI&A project pipeline.

• Provide user training, adoption support, and change management around new BI tools.

• Act as a governance champion, partnering with IT on data standards and stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, reporting, or related role.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to translate between business needs and technical requirements.

• Familiarity with Power BI, DAX, and SQL (hands-on skills a plus but not required).

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or B2B environments preferred.
