A Day in the Life
As Country Business Manager Italy – Aortic, you will lead the Aortic business in Italy with full accountability for the country’s commercial performance, financial results and organizational effectiveness. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to shape the strategy and execution of a strategic business, accelerating sustainable growth while strengthening customer partnerships and team performance. You will have the opportunity to influence the future direction of the Aortic business, combining strategic thinking, strong commercial leadership and a passion for improving outcomes for patients and healthcare professionals.The role is based in Italy, with Milan as the reporting location, and operates in a predominantly remote working environment. The position requires regular travel across the country to engage with customers, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare institutions and the local team, as well as participation in relevant European and global business activities. The Country Business Manager reports into the relevant Aortic regional leadership structure and works closely with cross-functional partners across Sales, Marketing, Medical Education, Clinical, Medical Science, Finance, Human Resources and Operations to ensure strong execution of the country strategy.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Own the full Profit & Loss (P&L) for the Italy Aortic business, delivering revenue, profitability and growth objectives in line with company strategy and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments
Define and execute the country commercial strategy, translating regional and global priorities into clear business plans and measurable actions for the Italian market
Lead, develop and engage the Italy Aortic organization, establishing a high-performance culture, strengthening capabilities and ensuring clear accountability across the team
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare institutions and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen Medtronic’s position and identify opportunities for sustainable growth
Drive cross-functional execution across Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Clinical, Market Access, Finance, Human Resources and Operations to maximize business performance and customer impact
Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity and business performance, translating insights into strategic priorities, resource allocation and corrective actions
Ensure disciplined execution of business processes, compliance requirements and governance standards while maintaining a strong focus on customer needs and patient outcomes
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Significant experience within Medtronic, with a strong understanding of the company’s culture, operating model, governance and matrix organization
Proven commercial leadership experience within Medtronic or the medical technology industry, with accountability for business performance, revenue growth and execution of strategic priorities
Demonstrated experience managing a Profit & Loss (P&L), including financial planning, resource allocation, revenue performance and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) delivery
Proven track record of leading and developing teams, creating accountability, strengthening capabilities and delivering results through others
Strong understanding of the Italian healthcare environment, including customer dynamics, hospital decision-making processes and relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies, translating regional and global strategies into successful country execution
