Job Description
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices using Spring Boot and modern software engineering practices.
- Build and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native solutions deployed on Kubernetes and containerized platforms.
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and develop automated testing solutions using tools such as Playwright, Karate, JUnit, or similar frameworks.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across distributed systems while improving application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, source control processes, and automated deployment solutions using Git and DevOps best practices.
- Implement security controls and secure coding standards, including encryption, TLS, certificate management, and application security best practices.
- Create technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering organization.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of relevant experience
- 5+ years in Java, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and software design principles.
- 5+ years developing microservices architectures using Spring Boot and managing dependencies with Maven.
- Strong knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Karate, JUnit, or similar tools.
- Experience with Git, version control best practices, and collaborative software development workflows.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native application deployment, and configuration management.
- Knowledge of application security concepts including cryptography, encryption, TLS, X.509 certificates, digital signatures, and secure communications.
- Excellent communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance optimization.
- 2+ years with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and GitLab automation.
- Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.
- Experience supporting shared libraries, frameworks, or reusable software components.
- Scripting skills using Unix Shell, Bash, Kubectl, or similar automation tools.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,095.00 - $130,700.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
