Scientific Drilling is looking for a Logistics Coordinator (Shipping and Receiving) to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA. Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide. The Logistics Coordinator (Shipping and Receiving) is responsible for performing shipping and receiving related duties on a professional level and works closely with staff throughout the company in multiple employee groups and with third party vendors. This position carries out responsibilities to generate shipping documents domestically and internationally, ensures and confirms accuracy of part numbers, quantity, serial number of physical inventory verses shipping documents for inbound and outbound, and processes receiving in the SAP ERP system. The Logistics Coordinator is also responsible to physically pack the material for shipping in boxes or pallets and load them into trucks using a forklift following company operational and safety policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize all shipments in line with company requirements.
- Ensure the integrity and timely preparation of documentation for all domestic and international (import/export) shipments including but not limited to commercial invoice, packing list, SLI, SED, and Certificate or Origin.
- Prepare and maintain a shipment schedule and communicate to all relevant departments.
- Verification of all freight invoices.
- Work closely with Logistics/Trade Compliance following all set procedures.
- Review all import and export shipments prior to movement for proper HTS and ECCN codes, Licenses, Values, Country of Origin, and Weights.
- Request and review quotes for shipments from transportation vendors where applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring Materials and Equipment deployments align with SDI processes and procedures.
- Ensure timely updates of Inventory, Materials and Equipment movements on asset tracking database (SAP).
- Effective Communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of orders including third party rework.
- Verify materials against documents for accuracy and ensure and confirm accuracy of part number, quantity, and serial numbers and communicate discrepancies to procurement team, vendors, and other applicable parties.
- Complete all requirements for handling hazardous material.
- Prepare and deliver goods and tools to appropriate departments.
- Pack material for shipping (boxing, banding, and pallet wrapping).
- Operate forklift to load and unload pallets and oversized tubular/pipes into and out of trucks.
- Perform safety, transportation, and trade compliance audits to the company internal standards.
- Ensure document retention electronically and physically as per department requirements.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business.

Education, Experience, Certification, and training:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- 2-3 years of experience shipping Domestic and International.
- Must be motivated and work fast paced while maintaining attention to detail for accuracy.
- Adhere to established company procedures and policies including safety standards and Company HSE policies, and work schedule (overtime may be required).
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing all assigned functions and supporting other department needs.

Work Environment, Physical Job requirements and PPE:
- Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects. Working near radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others or working alone.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, lift and carry up to 40 lbs., operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.
- Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, power tools, air tools, telephone, and automobile. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
