THE POSITION

Keyera is currently seeking a Facility Shift Operator/Rail Loader (Entry Level) position for our St. Clair, Michigan facility. This role is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of an LPG Storage, transfer, loading, unloading and inventory management facility. This includes the operation of underground LPG storage caverns, railcar loading and unloading activities, truck loading facilities, brine handling systems, and associated pipeline infrastructure.

This position follows a 12-hour rotating 5-on/5-off schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and participation in an on-call rotation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate LPG storage, transfer, injection, withdrawal, loading, and unloading systems.
• Monitor plant performance through routine facility inspections, operating rounds, and quality control testing to ensure products meet specification prior to receipt and shipment while identifying and communicating operating concerns.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and safely return equipment to service using approved Lockout/Tagout, Safe Work Permit, Hot Work Permit, Confined Space Entry, Personal Protective Equipment, and environmental procedures.
• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration activities on pumps, valves, meters, gauges, transmitters, flow computers, and other process equipment.
• Complete monthly meter calibrations and support maintenance activities related to facility measurement and operating equipment.
• Maintain accurate operational, maintenance, environmental, and regulatory documentation, including operating records, plant logs, meter calibrations, permits, environmental reporting, flaring reports, and other required compliance documentation.
• Participate in Process Safety Management activities in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119, including HAZOP reviews, internal audits, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support plant turnarounds, maintenance activities, project planning, work scope development, operating procedures, and site-specific work plans.
• Coordinate truck driver orientations, contractor onboarding, and site safety training in alignment with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Participate in the facility on-call rotation and provide overtime support as operational requirements dictate.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must reside within 30 miles of the St. Clair, Michigan facility.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to provide a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating 5-on/5-off schedule, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience in gas processing, propane fractionation, NGL facilities, terminal operations, pipeline operations, or a related industrial environment would be considered an asset.
• Experience with P&IDs, piping schematics, process drawings, or other technical documentation would be considered an asset.
• Troubleshooting, maintenance, equipment calibration, or measurement experience would be considered an asset.
