The Coordinator, School of Medicine & Student Support coordinates the daily activities of the Dean’s Office at the School of Medicine at Temple University/St. Luke’s University Health Network. The coordinator contributes to an office that fosters medical students’ personal and professional development through: academic support and advising, career development, student health and wellness, student organizations, leadership and service opportunities. The coordinator assists with Student Support events and programs, tracks progress of regional campus students, and coordinates student health and wellness services.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the Department with scheduling meetings with students, faculty & others as needed.
• Assist with Student Support events and programs such as: First Year Orientation, Class Meetings, Residency Day, Second Look Day, 3rd-Year Prep, and relevant sessions of Capstone.
• Assist the Philadelphia OSS with events and programs such as White Coat Ceremony, Match Day, Awards Day and Graduation.
• Track progress of regional campus students by collaborating with the Philadelphia OSS regarding: enrollment status, including off-cycle, dual degree and campus changes; communication faculty and staff; filing.
• Collaborate with Philadelphia OSS on building and maintaining an up-to-date Student Support site within LKSOM’s online content management system.
• Support Student Health and Wellness regarding physical/mental healthcare information. Meet compliance and physical vaccination requirements and manage general student health and wellness services.
• Support Student Financial Services by coordinating presentations which may include remote and/or in-person settings.
• Assist with work-study program and with other student compensation.
• Assist with developing an annual list of summer opportunities.
• Student research: Support Student Activities in tracking student research projects, presentations, and publications.
• Student Government Association (SGA) and student organizations: Work with various student groups to coordinate programs, events and activities; manage their budget and process reimbursements; ensure timely dissemination of information.
• Maintain other printed and online student affairs materials for the Temple/St. Luke’s Website, the residency Match list, and the Student Affairs pages for the Student and Faculty Handbook.
• Assist with supervising students producing St. Luke’s pages for the annual Skull Yearbook.
• Assist with the Program Directors’ survey for recent graduates of St. Luke’s regional campus.
• Assist with tracking of and communication with alumni of the St. Luke’s regional campus program and development of a newsletter.
• Provide general office support to maintain office supplies and manage engineering requests.
• Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time, frequently uses fingers for typing, data entry, etc. Frequent use of hands; uses upper extremities to rarely lift up to 10 pounds. Occasionally stoops, bends or reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation, seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision and vision monotony.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or High School Diploma/GED with related experience.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Three years of experience in an academic and/or teaching hospital setting; experience in undergraduate medical education preferred. Information technology skills, including facility with MS Office Suite (mainly Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Drive, and Adobe required. Previous experience with content management systems and survey tools such as Canvas, One45, Banner, and Survey Monkey preferred.
