You are the authority for the architectural integrity (solution / technology / integrations) of the systems that drive our logistics domain. You will move us toward a unified, scalable architecture that supports our operational journey.
Your role and responsibilities
1. Architecture & Solution Design
Own the blueprints and "North Star" strategy for the WMS, WCS, TMS, print solution, Inventory Management / Synchronization domains.
Own the Solution Architecture through the full project lifecycle, creating concrete artifacts such as sequence diagrams, solution diagrams, and ADRs for the delivery teams.
Ensure that we build reusable, scalable platforms and manage the technical debt across our products.
Evaluate existing architecture and suggest future architecture in collaboration with Solution Architects, PO’s and Technical leads, following EA guiding principles.
Integration Middle Layer: Design and troubleshoot complex integration patterns across event-driven (e.g., Kafka) and middleware platforms (e.g., OIC, Boomi, legacy ERPs).
Translate operational and application needs into concrete infrastructure requirements partnering closely with Digital Foundation / Infrastructure Architects.
2. Strategic Roadmap
Partner closely with the DPM to ensure the architectural roadmap directly enables the product vision. You will provide the architectural "how" to the DPM’s "what" and "why", ensuring that growth initiatives are feasible, scalable, and delivered.
Design and drive the transition from the current state toward a future-proof architecture.
Define the phased migration path that balances “developing new features on existing platforms" and evolution towards the new architecture.
Pragmatic Visionary: You can see the North Star of a perfect architecture but are realistic enough to define the iterative steps needed to get there.
3. Analysis & Feasibility
Lead the technical feasibility for high-impact initiatives within the products.
For cross-team project/features, connect with all the product teams and centers of excellence and arrive at a consolidated uniform decision on architectural setup.
Conduct trade-off studies (e.g., Build vs. Buy vs. Adopt) for tools within the domain stack in line with the EA guiding principles and in close collaboration with other Architects.
4. Standards, Governance & Compliance
Act as the ultimate authority for the WMS, WCS, TMS, printing solution, Inventory Management / Synchronization domains in the architectural area.
Formulate and defend architectural exceptions to governance boards and executive stakeholders when business urgency requires a deviation from the standard.
Define and validate Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and perform formal Solution Risk Assessments to identify and mitigate technical debt, scalability limits, or delivery bottlenecks.
5. Technology & Innovation
Translate industry shifts into strategic opportunities for TVH.
Lead experimental validation (PoCs) for innovations.
6. Platform & Observability
Oversee implementation of new platforms and technologies.
Assist in troubleshooting with RUN teams when being confronted with imminent P1 or P2 issues in order to provide guidance towards troubleshooting teams.
7. Stakeholder Partnership
Maintain a tight-knit collaboration with Solution Architects, Product Owners (POs) and Tech Leads within the squads.Align with the architecture peers in the architecture board. Bring and defend your proposed solutions to the board.
Connect with your main business stakeholders on a frequent basis.
Connect with external stakeholders (vendors/providers) to steer technology roadmaps through influencing.
Serve as a mentor for other architects / developers / team members through active knowledge sharing.
